Dr. Post, who has been at Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency since 2022, is one of our dedicated emergency veterinarians with a special passion for exotic pets! Dr. Post brings extensive experience in small animal and exotic pet medicine, including birds, reptiles, and exotic mammals. Since 2020, Dr. Post has provided medical and surgical management care to exotic species. Her skill set includes surgical procedures such as spay/neuter, foreign body removal, and wound management in reptiles and exotic mammals, in addition to her ER expertise.
Dr. Post completed her veterinary degree at Kansas State University in 2020 and has since pursued continuing education in small and exotic animal veterinary care, including courses in exotic veterinary endoscopy, surgery, and CT. She is also Fear Free and Recover CPR certified, ensuring a high standard of compassionate and skilled care for all patients.
Dr. Post's passion for veterinary medicine started in 2000 after she adopted a bearded dragon and discovered how hard it was to find educated care for exotic pets. She could not believe how much personality he had, all the way down to his preference for acoustic guitar music.
What sets Dr. Post apart is her deep commitment to the human-animal bond, particularly in emergency situations where owners need clear communication and support. Recognizing the unique challenges exotic pet owners face, Dr. Post prioritizes thorough education on husbandry and preventative care to improve long-term patient outcomes.
" I love giving owners the tools they need to understand what is happening with their pets and believe in thorough communication so that owners can make informed decisions about next steps for their family. " - Dr. Post
